what does time really mean towards an experience? if you're immersed in a feeling, a moment or an instance for a longer session of seconds, does that make it more worthy?
i used to fear a lot of things and think that only with time would i become more comfortable... when you start a new job: give it time and you'll grow to love it... when you start school: give it time and you'll succeed... when you start a new relationship: give it time and you'll know it's for real...
less and less am i believing the truth behind these statements... sometimes, regardless of the passage of time, you just know something or feel something... sure, time will shape it and change it a bit, but are there really guidelines as to how long you should wait before you can claim a feeling? more specifically -- and the main context of this post -- is it only after a certain number of moments, minutes and/or memories that you can decide you're in love?
when friends of mine would admit their adoration-induced life choices, i'd usually say "don't you think that's a little quick?"... i was one of those that didn't get it... but now i think maybe i do... it's not about rushing or making rash decisions... but why then -- when it comes to love's length -- is there the connotation that there is a prescribed right amount of time for a connection to be purely understood?
to some it may seem quick when the days are counted, but what you feel is what you feel... time may tell, but there's no sense in waiting in the sidelines while it runs its course... it's not always just butterflies...
