a very special sandwich...

known as the "pbj", it's quite possibly the ultimate sandwich for the man/woman on the go... it's cheap, easy and mmmm... tasty...
when i was a kid my mom would whip up a batch of her to-die-for crabapple jelly, which was meant to be teamed with pb... a little slice of food fate... the sweetness of the jelly and the slightly salty taste of the pb was -- and still is -- one of life's perfect combinations... like sonny and cher, bert and ernie, jeans and a t-shirt, or alcohol and dancing...

there was always an art to creating a pbj sandwich... you have to clean the knife just so before plunging it into the pb, as not to mix the two in their respective jars... and you have to pay careful attention to the amount of pb and j you add to the bread... as equal parts as possible...

when i stumbled across this plush pbj, i was not only impressed by the fact that this woman has created these, but overwhelmed with sheer delight by the expression on the face of the sandwich... so happy, content, excited to be enjoyed... such a simple sandwich with so much to offer...

eat your heart out deli meats; pbj is #1...
