why is it that people never tell you who they voted for? i always brought it up at the dinner table when i was too young to take part, and my parents would always avoid the question... "that's personal sweetie"
they knew my math skills were never that savvy, so i doubt it was because they thought i could calculate the probability of the elections based on who they sided with and figure out the new big guy before the rest of the nation... so why the hush-hush?
my mom was confident enough to divulge the info that she'd smoked pot in high school, but couldn't let it slip if she voted green party... maybe it's to save us all from a great dinner-time debate, or maybe my father (most certainly a liberal) was actually pained in opposition to my mother (who could or could not be a conservative)... nah... there's no way she'd vote for harper, he's too creepy...
i guess if secrecy wasn't an issue then when you'd go to the polls you'd simply checkmark underneath a huge poster of said politician with a big fat sharpie... or better yet, you'd just shout your vote from the rooftops and each neighbourhood would delegate someone to keep track of the commotion...
regardless, to stick with tradition, i'm not telling who i voted for... but let me just say that no matter what, i don't think i'll be happy...
