with a collapsible cooler full of beer, sweaters, sleeping bags and intent, we set out for the calm and silence of the land... a 20 minute drive outside of the downtown and we pulled up to a relaxing scene of sunshine and hammocks...
the evening played out with ease -- a barbecue, drinks, chatter, a walk down to the river and then settling for the night bundled up in a tent... the mountains and slight lingering of sun were the perfect backdrop, as we laid down in a lump of sleeping bags with just the mosquito net zippered...
this morning, we awoke to not a drop of condensation on the walls of the tent... just the comforts of the sun pouring in and a cool breeze... the north's lack of humidity is a blessing...
as i walked around the acres of garden, gravel, patio furniture and wood housing, i felt like i was "up north" -- as we used to say in the big city... we went "up north" to get away from the hustle and bustle... now i'm always already there... cottage life has been forever altered into a constant state of living...
