good idea: heading out to a club on a long-awaited holiday sunday... no work the next day... no cars in tow... fully ready to get sloshed...
good idea: spending the night downing gin and bar limes... every now and then getting a shot to sweeten the deal... finding random guys who thought we were hilarious on the dance floor to buy us beverages...
good idea: running into old friends from high school... catching up on good times and finding out what's new...
bad idea: actually agreeing to go to the cottage in short skirts and heels straight from the bar... at 3:00 in the morning... with these three guys we hadn't seen since high school...
bad idea: actually going to the cottage... a degree of slight panic set in when we'd gotten off highway 400 and pit stopped at a tim horton's... it wasn't that our company were slick, horny bastards... they were hilarious and innocently looking to continue this night of fun... it was just that we didn't plan on taking a two hour car ride to chill at a cottage... at 3:00 in the morning...
good idea: suggesting we only spend a few hours at said cottage... pull an all-nighter... leave promptly at 7:00 in the morning to beat the highway 400 holiday traffic...
good idea: elbow dropping the guys as they attempted to sleep... rachel taking the wheel to ensure we'd get on the road and head home... once in rachel's car en route to my pop's house, we organized/fabricated our reasons for coming home now and not last night... you have to get your stories straight...
i walked in the door at about 9:00 to greet my parents who had recently awoke... "i'm going to bed" i said with a tired stare... minutes later i shuffled down the stairs claiming that i couldn't sleep... i was still reeling from the fact that we'd even covered as much ground as we had in the last 12 hours... i spat out my excuse for coming home so late/early... slept at a friend's house because i didn't want her to cab it alone -- another useless lie... later, i fell asleep on the couch watching a movie... when i awoke, i thought to myself "good times" and smirked... there's always something intoxicating about the extraordinary... even if there was slight panic over medium double-doubles in a tim horton's washroom at 4:00 in the morning in the middle of cottage country...
next weekend? repeat? tee hee...
