sunshine and snail mail...

ahhhh... another satisfying three days spent basking in the simple life of the cottage... destination this time around: the quaint and silent hideaway of meaford, ontario... although a chilly breeze greeted us every morning, it wasn't enough to cause us to seek shelter... in fact, i still managed to come away slightly more sun-kissed than i had previously been...

as we snuck out for some tobacco late last night, i glanced up at the gigantic bed of stars that greeted us overheard... honestly, it was remarkable and mesmorizing... i'd forgotten what the world can produce... although my star sense was rusty, i spotted the big dipper in no time...

today, as we sadly anticipated our last meal before the ride home, we sat at the pier watching the water crash against the rocks... "if you lived here, like, what would you do for fun?" life seems so simple when there is only one strip of shops and nothing but wide open spaces and water to accompany you... it's no secret that i crave the city life, but every now and then it crosses my mind that i could call a small town "my home"...

after re-adjusting the air conditioner once i'd walked back through the front door of my streetsville digs, i ran up to the computer to catch up on emails and blogs... ugh, i'm pathetic... i was really looking for any info on when i can expect my ebay purchase of the complete my so-called life dvds, but alas, no news... however, i pleasantly stumbled upon an email from my former FLARE frontman... it was a little email to say hi, claiming he misses my voice... coincidence: i had just tossed a letter to him in the mail on sunday afternoon... his email was dated monday, so i chalked it up as fate that he'd sent me a line -- i know the mail carriers don't work magic... so, i'll sleep well tonight in this different suburban air, dreaming of rekindling my fashion mag flame... sigh...
