after thoughts...

dear baby, i hope someday somebody wants to hold you for 20 minutes straight... all they do is wrap you up in their arms without an ounce of selfishness to it... - keri russell, waitress

a heavy dose of perspective fell over me... sure, it was just a film, just a fictitious story of people that shadow a gleaming sense of reality... but sometimes it gets to you... your eyes fog up and the corners of your mouth curl as you gaze somewhat longingly at the screen in the darkness...

never before have i sat by my lonesome in a theatre... others shuffled in arm and arm, some flying solo like me... i munched away on m&ms, flipping through teen tribute unabashedly and profess to wiping tears away at about the half way or three-quarter mark of the film...

a simple movie of an unhappy woman with an unwanted baby on the way, a controlling husband and a penchant for making pies and lusting over her attractive doctor... sounds like a chick-flick on a film reel -- but really it was more than that... between hilarity and truths, it made me reflect on how hard and how easy it is to find happiness... how much things thought to be trivial actually manage to have an affect...

you know when you hear a quote or a lyric and you immediately want to head home and write it down, but can't remember it verbatim? this happened tonight... and as i searched for the quote above -- in all it's simplicity and beauty -- i came across the tragedy that the young, beautiful director and co-star in the film passed before it ever saw its showing at the sundance film fest... what appeared to be a suicide was actually a murder by a short-tempered construction worker who didn't appreciate her requesting him to keep the noise down...

to be honest, i don't know how to end this post... it just felt like i needed to let this out... it's not often one feels so provoked after spending two hours in the dark with strangers...
