music men...

when i walked into cora's this afternoon for a semi-impromptu editorial department lunch, i spotted jesse keeler waiting to be seated... his facial hair reminds me of mountain men and pirates all wrapped into one... i left out mentioning that i saw him from the table conversation -- i don't think my co-workers are all that familiar with dfa 1979...

as i made my way through the big smoke, ron sexsmith stumbled out of black market vintage on queen... the last time i spotted him was after a friend's cd release at 3:00 in the morning... he was slowly walking underneath the dim streetlights while clutching a bottle in a brown paper bag... i wonder what his poison was... this time he simply looked exhausted... his pudgy, baby face always reminds me of a cabbage patch kid...

in my final minutes of reaching my new home away from home at sherbourne and gerrard, a louis armstrong tune surfaced during my ipod's shuffle... "gone fishin'" duet with bing crosby... i beamed and giggled as passers-by looked at me in wonder... i could listen to that man scat any day of the week... as soon as i reached the indoors, i transformed into holly homemaker, baking cookies and preparing dinner's fixings...

i found a haiku he'd left me... then he came home and made me laugh...
