the most wonderful time of the year...

the last four days have been utterly fantastic... a company christmas party was surprising less drab due to consumption of free beverages... plus, it was followed up by a little ed the sock x-mas fun... apparently i'm big on snoring when alcohol has entered my system...

the next night was a calm friday... a detox evening filled with fresh sandwiches at a local deli, ordering a turkey for sunday, renting flicks, laughing and giant cups of tea... saturday: a lazy morning, slightly horrible breakfast experience and a mexican themed christmas/wedding celebration where dancing to justin timberlake with all my might was expected...

finally, sunday arrived... the big day... i'm used to years gone by where my roommates and i would all come together in the spirit of christmas and cook a bird, gift exchange and suffer from the turkey tireds later... this year, my handsome decided that getting friends together over white and dark meat was a must...

eggnog and rum, i danced with the turk in the sink and then proceeded to stuff him full with a fragrant onion, celery and dried bread mix... butter up a brown paper bag and throw it in -- butcher's orders... friends arrived and the air in the apartment reached soaring temperatures... the bustle of children and laughter filled the space... thai basil, prosciutto, sharp cheese, potatoes, carrots, brussel sprouts, beets, cranberries, salad, turkey, fudge and christmas blend starbucks java... as he carved, i whisked away at the gravy... we felt like parents rounding the kids to the table for the feast...

after the wine and tryptophan kicked in, our bodies were dead weight... and it certainly felt a lot like christmas...
