summertime is always a peak time for pleasures, guilty and innocent... it's that season when you accept the guilt in donning the shirts and skirts you'd normally deem as skanky or slutty... it's that season when the nights innocently go on a little bit longer and another drink on a patio couldn't hurt... but, more importantly, it's the time of year when pop songs take over the airwaves and cause us all to crumble under the unbearable weight of the dreaded -- yet oh-so-enjoyable -- guilty pleasures of the top 40, pop-tastic, radio-friendly hits...
top five current guilty summertime pleasures invading my ipod:
1) justin timberlake - sexy back
(sooooooooooo good...)
2) christina aguilera - ain't no other man
(sister can sing and jazz it up, honey...)
3) the pussycat dolls - beep
(ahem, don't tell anyone, but i'm obsessed...)
4) nelly furtado ft. timbaland - promiscuous
(when did she get so sexed up?!?)
5) shakira ft. wyclef jean - hips don't lie
(ok, so it's annoying me slightly now, but i still can't deny my attraction)
they're those songs you're not sure you can say you love... the ones you blare in the car when no one's around, or when you're surrounded by forgiving, have-no-shame girlfriends with just as strong and strained vocal chords as yourself... regardless, they've all been introduced to a comfortable spot on my "shake it" playlist... just don't spread that around though, or you'll ruin that whole "music snob" act i have going on...
