sad departures, happy returns...

three years in one house equals a lot of stuff to pack
but four years in one place equals even more memories to carry
i fittingly wrapped my kitchen wares in magazine pages
one, because i couldn't find newspaper
two, because i'm always sure to have too many mags around
my world just got a bit smaller
now i only have one address to claim mail at
once again i've localized to my hometown
this time for what seems to be for good
at least for now...

it hurt to say goodbye
but leaving made for a whirlwind week of lasts
a sloppy job bbq-ing at another keg romp
shattered glass sticking into my boots at a bar fit for crowd surfing
j-bo attempting to beat an old credit card record
eggspectations breakfast
waking up to you in my room at 1210 pebble for the last time
finding a sweetly stashed note from you as i unpacked
erin presenting me with a perfectly crafted memory box
not that i'll ever be able to forget
it was a great way to end
it was a solid series finale...

i know i'll be back there
but it'll never be the same
from now on i'll just be a visitor
to a place i used to call home...

it's only been just over 24 hours and it all feels so far away from here...
