as the fresh air hit my shoulders i couldn't help but concentrate on how beautiful the atmosphere had become... no longer were evenings filled with warm sweaters or even light jackets... the warmth had come in a rush and begged sweat out of my pores, both comforting me and testing me with its proud sunshine and light breeze...
flip flops clung to my feet... i wander bra-less in a tube top once again... the ice cap machine was broken at the tim horton's i frequent -- a true sign of summer and canadian loyalty...
as we took drags of our cigarettes and enjoyed the calm of the lake that surrounded us, we spoke of our next adventure... only 5 more days until we awake with nothing but breakfast and the beach to start our days... only 5 more days until the hussle and bussle is left behind in place of cocktails and sunscreen applications...
unlike all the years before, this summer feels different... it feels as though it's occurring at a slower pace... nothing rushed or in dire need of being attended to... this time i'm back and time can be savoured... i dream of evening walks on the beach in a daiquiri-induced haze, with sun-kissed limbs and not a care in the world...
