a dozen 7-eleven chain stores have had a bit of an animated overhaul in the last week... in anticipation of the movie about everyone's favourite yellow-skinned family, the convenience store giant has altered 12 of its locations to echo the springfield one-stop shop... that's right, apu's franchise is now for real -- well, sort of...certain elements of the stores have been adjusted, including the addition of full-sized cut-outs of the simpsons characters to join you while you shop... the big gulp machine mirrors bart's squishee indulgences and products such as krusty o's cereal, the famous pink-frosted donut, buzz cola and edition #711 of the radioactive man comic book series...
there are 14 communities in the united states currently competing to be named the springfield that the dysfunctional family calls home... however, not one of those communities has the pleasure of welcoming apu's business to their streets... 11 of the 7-eleven turned kwik-e-marts are in the states, while us here in canuck land get one in coquitlam, b.c...
