catch 22...

as soon as whitehorse became a prospect for my career-driven future, i knew that adjustments would be inevitable... i didn't grow up small town, i'm not small town and i certainly didn't yearn for small town... but the pending experience was both enticing and adventurous...

now four months in, my mind is already exploring the options of change... when searching my new surroundings i know it's futile to attempt to find the same comforts i had back home... this place is different and thus they just won't exist here like they do elsewhere... the voids i feel in this mountain-filled territory only cement in my mind how much i'm grateful for...

the catch is, when i was home i was in a slight state of panic over the fact that graduating wasn't immediately followed by steps towards a career... now i'm here, in the throws of those baby beginning steps and each day my mind is flooded with longing for home...

thoughts and plans for the future have become a daily conversation... drive to the west coast, find a new beginning? up root to the east and calm to the sound of the ocean? stick with radio or return to print? the possibilities are endless and the changes, eventual...
