each time i step into the booth my heart flutters... just a bit...
i stare at the large board, littered with tiny sliding knobs and exhale...
the first fifteen minutes of the show run through my head and the song selections take shape...
check, check, check...
four minutes after 1:00 -- my cue to get things rolling...
with each song i wonder if anyone out there is enjoying it...
well, and if they're even listening...
it's my hour, all to myself, a playlist of personal choice...
i questioned today whether anyone at the station even enjoys my show...
considering most, if not all of them are blatantly expressed country fans...
i play tokyo police club and handsome furs... but vetoed kid koala and bss' "handjobs for the holidays" -- i don't know how well they'd be received... i have to ease them into the genre change...
after some companion counselling, it dawned on me that that's not really what i should be worried about...
in time they might grow to love it...
and if not, i'll just quietly revert back to playlists of the ipod variety...
