sushi -- for me it's a sometimes meal... one often enjoyed with a certain platinum-haired lass in good ol' toronto... to be honest, i've never had sushi in ottawa, which is a damn shame... well, unless you count the decent kind they have at loblaws, but really people, that's not true sushi...
with the taste of wasabi still ringing in my mouth from a tuna roll last month (ok, not really) i was all set to take on a whole new sushi experience last night: making it on my own!!! with the expertise of my roomie erin and some good company, we gathered 'round the living table and got our roll on...

it was actually really easy... the chopping of the veggies was the most cumbersome portion of the evening... and i must admit, i was impressed by my special little guy's slicing and dicing performance... asian equation: seaweed wraps + white sticky rice + green onions + cucumber + avacado + *crab meat + red pepper = sushi heaven... but then again, i love any excuse to bust out some chopsticks and work on my skillz...
*please note: real crab was not used in the making of this sushi night, as the roommates who put on this ordeal are much to financially challenged to fund such luxurious ingredients for their friends...
