pavle, mika and i ended up spending the rest of the day together in frankfurt having coffee and laughing at each other´s stories... the most helpful woman on the planet helped me figure out how best to book all my train travel from here to rome... i am now the proud owner of a bahncard, which gives me discounts on german train travel... awesome.
i arrived in munich on saturday night at about 8:00 p.m. and was exhausted from more interrupted sleep on the train... the trip was spectacular though -- stretches of lush green all over the place, spotted with unique german houses and churches... one little city was just a sprawl of homes up and down the hillsides, with historic buildings lining the valley...
in munich i ended up getting the very last room in a hostel called wombat´s... it´s right near the train station and was perfect stumbling distance for my broken body... i dropped my stuff off in the room and found a couch to crash on while i wrote in my journal... a group of aussies came into the lounge where i was sitting so i quickly introduced myself and we became fast friends... matt, joel, aaron, mitch and i ended up making our way to the bar at the hostel for some pints... they were a pile of laughs and i loved picking up on their lingo... they also made a guessing game out of getting to know me -- trying to figure out my name and occupation on clues alone... it ended up being a tame, but enjoyable night with new friends...
