yearlong...

it's official -- i've reached the year mark... it's been 365 days since i stepped on ontario soil... it's been 365 days since i've seen the most familiar faces in my life... time plays trick on us -- sometimes it feels like it's been ages longer than that, while other times it feels necessary to request a recount...

i was flooded with memories of friends gathered to bid me adieu... tears shed over the unknown... and then gazing at a vast stretch of mountains from the tiny airplane window as i approached landing in my new habitat... i'd never made a leap before, never taken that big of a chance on change... but in a week's time i was in the throws of a real life, with friends, a home, work and new opinions...

the list of comforts is just as long as the one filled with reasons to head elsewhere... who knows what choice will be next -- after all, this one came with its own traits of spontaneity...
