not enough hours in the day...

with a new year, comes new perspectives... each of the eleven days that have so far led me through 2008 have called for some soul searching and eventual decision making... the world is such a large place that often facing change is just as daunting as staying in the same place...

with the clock just passing into the 5:00 p.m. hour, i've already been up for 12 hours -- although today it feels as though i've lived a week condensed... from frustrations to office politics, heavy workload to unfortunate circumstances, fridays rarely feel like a relief and end to the grind... oh, so this is what "real" life feels like... my parents always said i'd experience this someday...

hands down, i'd rather be busy than bored in life... right now numerous lines in my day planner can barely contain all the reminders i scribble down... it's a good feeling, but leaves my head reeling and jumbled with who i just spoke to and who i still need to contact... i actually had to ask a woman who returned my call today just what it was that i'd contacted her about...

the thrill of the rush is wonderful, albeit exhausting... earlier in the week i told a distant friend that connecting over the phone in the next few days was a simple request... but now all we've accomplished is a game of phone tag and continued disconnect...

i guess i'm contradicting myself in this blog post -- after all, i've found the time in my "busy" schedule to write all of this... it's rather ironic that my downtime is writing and staring at a glowing computer screen, when that's exactly what eats up all the other hours in my day...
