such great heights...

ahh... where to begin? the last few days have completely drained my body of its energy and my mind of all its strength... my tear ducts have been on call for every hour of the day and suddenly time feels like it is rushing past me...

over the past month i've been secretly hoping for some source of change... my life hasn't given me that same uplifting feeling that i'd once been consumed by... the world was swirling around me and i was simply trying to hop on the ride to no avail... i felt like my experience was being overlooked by a field that barely embraced me...

now, i have three weeks to make time of the essence... after those 21 days are over, i will board a plane en route to whitehorse, yukon -- and my arctic adventure will officially take shape... who would have ever guessed that this city girl would pluck herself out of the running as a toronto condo-chaser and trade those sensibilities in for a down-filled parka and first nations radio station?! certainly not i...

admittedly, i'm nervous as hell and my mind just barely slows down enough to let me sleep at night... however, this overwhelming sensation is matched with excitement and dreams of what the future holds... i've always thought of myself as a writer -- magazines and features were my vision... but radio appears to have always been my subconscious fate in so many ways... and regardless of my specific new job title, the writing will always flow...

initially this felt like one of those decisions where i wanted to close my eyes and let someone else check the appropriate box for me... to determine my future seemed to be nothing less than gut-wrenching... i quickly realized that regrets and "what ifs" are so much more frightening than taking a chance...

saying goodbye is never easy when a timeline of the future is unpredictable... i've already started a brain tally of all the faces i'll long to see... but in due time familiarity and love will join me in the form of the most passionate man i've ever come to know... together we will build a life and stories that some are only lucky enough to dream of...
