immersed in a crowd of daily commuters, i was taken back... i was driven to a time of locker chats and passing notes in class... i reminisced about being in high school -- all because i smelt a man doused in ralph lauren polo... that was one of my juvenile lovers' scent... i won't write his name because i feel a strange need to protect him from the blogosphere...
it is said that scent is one of the strongest -- if not THE strongest -- of the five senses... it's true that when you catch a whiff of a familiar aroma, you're kinda taken back to its connection in your life... whether it be a lover (swiss army, davidoff coolwater, givenchy pi and many others come to mind) or a friend (jessica mclintock, victoria's secret angel, britney spears curious -- tee hee...) or a family member (alfred sung, chanel number 5) -- it's a comfort when your nostrils fill with nostalgia... the first real perfume i ever bought myself was sun, moon and stars by karl lagerfeld... apparently, even at a young age, the fashion mags dictated my life...
a woman walked by me the other day, smelling like an art teacher i once had... i was motivated to run home and dig out my pastels and acrylics... makes me wonder what perks people's noses when it comes to me?
