this is definitely a situation where the saying "to each their own" applies... it's no news to my family that my brother has a slight obsession with video games... just about every gaming console that has hit the market has managed to make its way through his household... but i don't think any of us really expected that he would be one of the fanatics lined-up all night to score one of the anticipated playstation 3 consoles...
sure enough when my father called him yesterday afternoon, he'd begun his wait... rain or shine (and it sure rained) he was in line with fingers crossed... the managers announced there were only 38 ps3s available -- luckily he stood 37th in line... alas, he realized he had to settle for a 20g rather than a 60g... apparently not all is fair in the gaming world...
as we rode the train in this morning, my father called to make sure he'd survived the night... with only minutes until the doors cracked open at 8:00 a.m., he said that fights were breaking out in the line of die-hards... equipped with sleeping bag, thermos, umbrella and camping chair, i can only imagine what my video-head bro looked like after a long night of anticipation... and i thought lining up at h&m for under two hours was embarassing...
