a dollar a day...

i spent my day cursing my computer... 1. because i sit in front of it all day, which only further contributes to my vision impairment... but 2. because i find it increasingly ironic that i work for a website, yet my internet constantly and consistantly cuts out... my little msn man flickers seemingly every 20 minutes or so, searching for a connection once again...

as i left my office i was slightly deflated that i missed out on the sunny afternoon... i hadn't gotten up once all day... not to relieve myself or even just do a lap around the cubicles for circulation flow... not once... ugh... now as i wandered the slightly brisk streets of the city, i was looking forward to injesting some vegetarian cuisine... i don't really have a need to eat a veggie burger -- the meat will do me just fine... but fresh is such a fantastic place that aine and i couldn't resist upon her suggestion...

as i waited outside the restaurant, polishing off a little white stick that i should be cutting out of my diet, a young shaggy haired gentleman approached me... i popped a headphone out and he began to tell me about sick kids hospital... how they invented pablum and strived day after day to better the lives of kids who are born without the luxuries of being 100%... so, i did it... i joined the miracle club... i'm a member of sorts -- now on the 15th of each month a $30 charge will appear on my credit card statement... it's a dollar a day to help those little ones eventually keep the doctors away...

it felt like it was the only real thing i'd done all day... well, other than the equal parts hilarious and semi-pretentious (and eavesdropping-worthy) conversation aine and i had about literature... and a well overdue coffee with my "sister" also known as "rachel"... the point is, i was consumed by an undeniable sense of wholesome satisfaction with myself... a fridge magnet thank you gift has never meant so much to me...
