oh, what a week... it's been so great i haven't taken a moment to blog...
my mum safely returned from her getaway in hawaii - tanned and gorgeous of course... from her travels i was bestowed with a stunning hand-crafted bead belt... it screams fall fabulous and will look fantastic with anything from jeans to the trusty peasant skirt...
i currently have five pieces destined for the entertainment sampler pages of october 2005's issue of FLARE on the go... even more exciting is that they were all my ideas pitched to my fab editor... he let me in on a little info that maclean's is looking for an editorial assistant, which was a huge pat on the back to me that he thought of me as a promising candidate... however, school bells are ringing and with one year left, i don't think it's dropping out time...
the boy toy began filming an independant movie in ottawa this week... sounds like he's becoming a star and i couldn't be more proud... he's playing a cocky, gorgeous man with an ego the size of parliament... i hope this won't rub off on him... and his co-star is supposedly a stunning 17-year-old... hmmm... if there's any sex scenes i don't think i'll hear about it until the premiere and be stressfully surprised...
the bar was jumpin' last night with a cd release party for our fav local boys, the word... they played some original tunes as well as some crowd-pleasers... we all swung our hips to the beatles, paul simon (they do an awesome cover of "me and julio down by the schoolyard"), ac/dc and many more... we traded in our normal black uniform attire for band t-shirts and every now and then took a moment from the chaos to enjoy the rockin' out... highlights: a 5 minute drum solo where chris proceeded to chug a half pint of stella while keeping the beat and a percussion finale which featured a band friend on matt's shoulders tapping away at a cowbell as he was carried throughout the bar... $220 in tips later, i was exhausted, thirsty and sweaty... now i have 3 hours until my next shift starts... hopefully tonight will be a bit calmer; my feet can only take so much...
with weeks as good as this, it's a shame to think there's only a month left of this wonderful season called summer...
*shout out to aine, who officially rings in her date of birthday tonight at midnight... cheers to you m'lady!
