back issues...

yeah, yeah, yeah... it's been awhile... my "resolution" was to keep this more up to date... alas, being unemployed is busier than i thought... let's see -- went to edmonton went to west edmonton mall, went to a wedding and picked up two contracts to pay the bills... apparently i'm a publicist now... i write press releases, i coordinate interviews and i make posters and programs... and apparently i'm pretty decent with photoshop... who knew?

but besides that, there's something else -- sciatica... it's a term for when you've strained/pulled/f%&*ed up your sciatic nerve... according to wikipedia, your sciatic nerve is the "longest and widest single nerve in the body"... and i f%&*ed mine up... hard core... don't ask me how, because i have no bloody idea...

all i know is that about two weeks ago i thought i'd pulled my hamstring... i had a small, but noticeable pain in my left upper thigh... fast forward to sleeping on pull-out couches and air mattresses in edmonton and suddenly i'm popping ibuprofen just to get through a night of high heels and partying... finally i couldn't take it anymore and went to the doc...

sure enough, i have all the symptoms that point to sciatica... so, now i'm popping ibuprofen like tic tacs, along with muscle relaxants and nerve suppressants... sooner or later i'm gonna need one of those day-of-the-week pill cases and 24/7 supervision...

when i walk, a sharp pain shoots down my lower back, through my butt and into my leg... sometimes i'm scared to even move and other times i'm pretty much fine... let me tell you, back pain blows... like seriously blows... it's frustrating, terrible, annoying, excruciating and uncomfortable... and i have no idea how much longer i'll have to deal with this -- throwing back pills, waking up in the middle of the night, sobbing, freaking out my lover, stretching in my living room, etc.

and the kicker: i don't have a car, so my main mode of transport is two feet and a heartbeat... remember how i mentioned i'm a busy publicist now? yeah... i should have just stuck to being unemployed and in my pajamas...
