[chai] tea for two...

unbeknowst to moi, this post will end up echoing a similar refrain to my dear friend aine's today... if i anything, i see it as a testament to how truly valuable our friendship must be, considering we both chose to blog about it...

although we've seen other each twice over the past few months, both occasions involved loud music, dancing and considerable amounts of alcoholic beverages... thus my old roomie (this would be aine, if you hadn't caught on) have yet to truly catch up... from new roomies, to new men, to new adventures, there was plenty to share... a pleasant waltz down yonge st. landed us in saigon sister (my fav dining spot from my FLARE days)... mmm... teriyaki salmon with steamed veggies and sticky rice... nothing better...

after interrupting pretty much every mouthful with a new thing to say, we finally cleared our plates and ventured back to her latest digs in the big city... i was greeted by tall ceilings and numerous pics of james spader on the walls -- oh and not-so-little orla the kittie...

next came a familiar and missed routine... we plunked down in her living room with a pot of chai tea, some muchmusic and plenty of conversation... it reminded me of our late night chit-chats when we lived under the same roof in chilly ottawa... sure the tea warmed us from the winter wind outside, but the true warming affect came from the comfort of knowing some things will always remain... it's been two years since we've lived together... two years since we've spent more than a few hours in each other's company... so many things we've missed out on with each other and so many stories we probably still haven't gotten around to telling... but it never feels as though there's been any lost time... we look a little different, our wardrobes have changed slighty, but we still attain that ability to fall on each other's shoulders as though it were just yesterday that a floor separated us...

before i knew it, it was 12:45 and i was headed for the last go bus of the night... as i walked the short path to the subway station, it was like one of those moments in a movie, where the title character saunters down the street and gets a peculiar smile across their face as upbeat, yet emotional music swells...
