...bring me a dream
i can't sleep... so i'm sitting here trying to waste time until suddenly my eyes will get heavy and my head will crave a soft, fluffy pillow... sometimes there are those nights when you can hear every car that drives by; every creak in the house; and every thought you've seemingly ever had, runs through your head like this annoying faucet that you can't shut off... i wonder if paris hilton ever has nights like these... nights when she can hear her money glistening in the moonlight and she lies awake wishing she'd looked a little bit better in that night vision sex tape... maybe it's not so easy being famous...
i saw the stars fairly clearly the other night when i walked home from my late class... [note: i express that i saw them "fairly clearly" because nothing compares to the tropics or the country sky lit up with a breathtaking twinkle] it made me realize that the winter smog has lifted and spring is in the air... it's hard to believe how time flies when you're preoccupied with life... heck, i only have a few more weeks of academia before i ship myself off to the hometown and think about nothing but dollars and cents (and some fun on the side) only to return to the capital once more to complete *gulp* my degree... now i know how pinocchio felt when he realized he'd become a real boy...
my mom is coming up to visit me this weekend... i've been planning all of these fun things we can do, like make banana bread and go to the museums... it reminds me of when i was younger and we went away to the cottage as a family... my mom and i would always put aside one day for "mother-daughter day"... we'd go shopping, have lunch and catch up... i think what i'm looking forward to the most is seeing her smile and getting that first hug when she arrives... well paint me sappy! hehe...
ok, that's enough... i must hit the hay... i'll count on good ol' jack johnson to thrust dreamland into my wandering mind... spending all this time awake is really just our way of procrastinating in between dreams... g'night
