how embarassing, my harddrive went soft...

sure, i consider myself an independant woman... i live on my own - well no parents - i cook my own kraft dinner, i dress myself, manage to keep myself tidy and wake myself up in the morning... so then why is it that i struggled to gulp tears down my quaking throat as i picked up the phone monday morning to tell my father that yes, my computer is not working?
has my life slowly become a technology-driven adventure filled with emails, blogging, myspace comments, surfing and gossip column skimming? i hang my head in shame... the thought of not being able to check my emails every 15 minutes, or at least every hour on the hour, almost drove me to tears... the thought of having to look a number up in the phone book instead of typing my way mindlessly to canada 411 made my knees quake... and the thought that everyone on msn messenger would think my absence meant i'd blocked them in a rage reminiscent of teenage angst had me itching for a solution...
when did my life boil down to such a pathetic state? what happened to the good ol' paper and pen - or even crayons - that had me captivated for hours in my youth? the information superhighway sucked me in only to spit me out monday morning leaving me with nothing... what could i possibly manage to accomplish without my darling desktop? i may as well take the semester of school off; it's probably what's best for me right now... take some time off of work for greiving too... i should really save my energy because something like this can be pretty devastating... feel free to send your condolences...

oh wait... my roomies said i can use their computers 'til mine's fixed... nevermind, gotta go...
don't tell anyone about this ok? it's not like i rely on a computer that bad or anything...
